Vandra vid Marnästjärn

A 2.6‑kilometre trail runs around Marnästjärn in central Ludvika. Along the trail there are colour markings so everyone can find their way around.

Marnästjärn is an 18‑hectare bird lake. It was once one of Dalarna’s finest bird habitats. The lake lies within Ludvika and is surrounded by residential areas, a mining museum, and forest land. From the south, water flows in through a stream on the eastern edge, and on the same side the outflow continues toward Övre Hillen. A steep, forested slope leads down to the eastern shore of the lake.

Along the trail you can also find several fire pits, shelters, and benches. So take a moment to pause and breathe—or why not listen to the birdlife? Here you get close to nature in just a few minutes, only a stone’s throw from the town centre.
