Beskrivelse
In 1731 there is mention of a mountain farm called Risåhlsbro, but this is probably the same farm that was later called Jan-Olars fäbodar. The name Jan-Olars probably comes from one of the founders or from the family that built and used the pastures. The co-owners in 1731 came from Moje and Gröntuv.
In the 1811-1817 census, Jan-Olars had 33 co-owners, 18 of whom were from Moje, 14 from Gröntuv and one from Grånäs.
In 1933 four of the nine cottages were in use. Six smallholders, three from Moje, two from Gröntuv and one from Gärde, had a total of 19 cows and five heifers grazing at the summer pastures.
North of the open mountain pasture was a small place, Nolmoren, with only one cottage. Anna Lindgren, Moje, was the herdsman at Nolmoren until 1953. The cottage was later moved to Bastberget.
In the 1940s, shepherding was at its busiest in Jan-Olars. At that time, ten households had between 40 and 50 cows grazing at the summer pastures.
Hemp's mother, Bing Anna Matsdotter (1880-1958), was Jan-Olars' last herdsman. The grazing farm ceased in 1952.
In a cultural-historical environmental analysis, Jan-Olars has been described as an area of great cultural-historical and environmental value.
