Fäbodrundan

Lead through the pastures Skallskog and the long abandoned Brändskog. You can walk both clockwise and counterclockwise and just before Brändskog it is possible to shorten the round to four km. Hiking on old sheepfold paths and there are damp parts.

From the parking lot, the hiking trail leads up through Skallskog. In summer you can meet the cows grazing or smell the smoke from the boiler walls and messmörskok. In the forest on Skallberget, large stone cairns and unusually clear cultivation terraces tell of the open landscape that existed in this place almost 100 years ago. The laborious work that has been carried out for generations is tangible - worth marveling at.

Brändskog used to be a large pastoral farm that is now completely abandoned. Almost all the cabins, barns and other buildings are gone. However, the observant can see remnants of farm labor and buildings. This is because house foundations, stone walls, trampled paths and rusty objects remain.
