Sunday, September 3, 10:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.

With the support of several associations and outdoor organizations, the City of Växjö aims, for the seventh year in a row, to showcase the wide variety of experiences and activities that outdoor life has to offer. Nature Day offers something for everyone in Växjö, with some activities being easily accessible and many being child-friendly. The program will be a “try-it-out” day led by knowledgeable instructors in a variety of outdoor activities. Staff from Växjö Municipality and the County Administrative Board will be on site all day to answer questions about outdoor recreation and nature conservation. Feel free to bike or take the bus to the meeting point at Araby Bathing Area 3, just south of Ryttartorpet.

A free bus ride to Nature Day is available from Araby Park Arena. Departure at 11:00 a.m. and return at 2:15 p.m. Children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult on this bus. Come join us for an inspiring full day outdoors! Beautiful weekend weather is expected.

Meeting Point: Araby Bathing Area 3, just south of Ryttartorpet in the Hovshaga Nature Reserve.

Practical Information: Wear clothing and shoes appropriate for your chosen outdoor activity. No pre-registration required; no cost. A complete schedule is available on Upplev Växjö and here on Naturkartan.

Accessibility: Fairly good accessibility on gravel roads and a mowed grassy area at the meeting place. An accessible restroom is located near Ryttartorpet. There are a variety of great outdoor facilities at the swimming area and in the Hovshaga Nature Reserve. City bus line 1 goes to the nearest stop on Fritidsvägen in Hovshaga.

Organizer: Växjö Municipality in collaboration with several partners: Värends Scout Troop, the Swedish Tourist Association (STF) Värend, Friluftsfrämjandet Växjö, the Kronoberg County Administrative Board, Korpen Växjö, the Sensus Study Association, StoryMax, Växjö Canoe Club, Cykelcirkus—a unique performance, Växjö Riding Club, Wexiö Disc Golf, the Dari Association, Unga Örnar/Ryttartorpet, and Växjö Library. Ingelstad Sportfishing Club and Lammhult Disc Golf are also participating on their home turf.
