Klibbalreservatets domänreservat, Naturreservat

Klibbalreservatet is a deciduous forest area that is just over 100 years old. The area is located 2 kilometers west of Tomashamn on Hornslandet. In the reserve you can walk on the paths or roam freely in the forest. The forest and marshes offer great nature experiences. The area covers 43 hectares, of which 28 hectares are forest land, 12 hectares of marshland and 3 hectares of mountains. The nature in the reserve is varied.

It consists of dry blocky rocky areas in the central parts. In the west there is a lush deciduous forest with aspen, birch, alder and willow. And in the north grows swamp coniferous forest.

There are also two bogs in the area. Around the bogs (mainly in the southern parts) there are several threatened lichen species. Wolf lichen, wood lichen, barn lichen and shiny black spike lichen are reported from the area. On a few older aspen trees, aspen yellow lichen grows.

Musk madder and dwarf horsetail

The soil is very fertile. There is also an unusually rich flora with species such as wood fescue, dwarf horsetail, musk madder and starflower. The reserve also includes Fräkenmyran (in the north-eastern part) and Vedmarksmyran (in the southern part).

The forest is only slightly affected by clearing and thinning. In the northern part of the area there is an older ditch system.

The entire area, like the rest of Hornslandet, is part of Sveaskog's Hornslandet Ecopark.
