Skåneleden SL6 Vattenriket: Österslöv - Arkelstorp

From Arkelstorp, the trail heads south on the old embankment towards Österslöv. The walk along the former railway between Kristianstad - Immeln gives a glimpse of the old days when the trains went across and across. The line was completed in 1885 and then remained until 1978 when it was closed. Later, the embankment was bought by Kristianstad municipality and converted into a cycle and footpath. The walk goes through wooded areas and open landscapes to finally arrive at the northern shore of Råbelövssjön. The geology leaves its mark on both the lake and the surroundings, on the western shore of the lake you can see Balsberget rising. At eleven meters, Råbelövssjön is considerably deeper than the nearby plain lakes Araslövssjön and Hammarsjön.
