Kulturstigen Gällivare

The Cultural Trail in Gällivare is a nature-friendly and easily accessible hike that follows the Vassara River through central parts of the community. Along the trail, visitors are met with stories about Gällivare's history, culture and social transformation, where nature and human traces are woven together into a living experience.

During the walk, you pass several sights and cultural environments that reflect the development and identity of the town. The Cultural Trail is just as suitable for a shorter walk as for those who want to discover Gällivare's cultural heritage at their own pace. The combination of nature, history and local stories makes the trail a popular excursion destination all year round.

The route is 4.2 km in total and takes an estimated 55 minutes. For those of you who are unable to walk up the stairs at the viaduct/train station, there is an accessible route along Industrigatan-Prästgatan-Kaitumvägen.
