STF Mariestad Vandrarhem

Mariestad is an old town in which many of the old buildings and much of the old charm have been preserved. But the hostel, with its roots in the 17th century, is the only building here that can give an impression of how Mariestad’s old trading farms once appeared. There was an old tanning business here, where skins were processed in wood-finished baths. Accommodation now is in airy double rooms or rooms with several beds.

During summer, we open a café in the garden of uor picturesque youth hostel. We offer rooms with 2, 4 or 6 beds. Showers and toilets are shared with other guests. Pets are allowed in some of rooms.

In addition to the classical town centre, the fascinating Göta Canal is a major attraction. Take a boat trip and experience Sweden’s blue band with its many locks. A cycle path runs alongside the canal.
