Beskrivelse
Hjo is a picturesque wooden town by Vättern with charming cobblestone streets and a welcoming marina with cosy restaurants.
From the spa era of the late 1800s there are many beautiful preserved turn-of-the-century villas, one of which is now the hostel in the centre of Hjo’s town park. The park was established in 1876 and has delightful lush grounds to stroll about in.
There is a large playground in the park, as well as tennis courts and mini golf. In the former indoor bathing house lies the exciting Vättern aquarium with interactive experimental exhibitions. Within walking distance you’ll find the harbour with a heated outdoor pool, restaurants and ice cream parlours. The mouth of the Hjoå (Hjo waterway) is a nature reserve and popular recreational area.

By train and bus:
From Gothenburg and Stockholm you can go by train to
Skövde and from there you take a bus towards Hjo. There are also buses from Jönköping, which is about 6 miles south of Hjo. The bus stop in Hjo is conveniently located 100 meters from Villa Eira Hostel.
By car:
Of course, you can go here by car and there is parking next to the hostel.
By boat:
The marina is very close to the hostel and offers opportunities for those who don't have enough beds on board.
