At Åsnebyn, time has stood still for a hundred years and the farm offers an exciting landscape filled with natural and cultural experiences. Bring the coffee basket and enjoy the view of the lake or participate in an event on the farm. The landscape at Åsnebyn is always open for excursions.

Hike in the agricultural landscape

Type of trails: Loops
A couple of loop trails have been laid out in the terrain. With the help of numbered postse, you can guide yourself around the farm's grounds. The trail is in the shape of a figure eight so you can easily choose to walk half or the whole round. You walk through the property with traces of e.g. ancient settlement and old agricultural technology and further towards the outback. Imagine that the landscape can be read like a book, where for example land use from further back is visible in the terrain as different chapters!

Åsnebyn is a farm dating back to the Middle Ages and the landscape contains many traces from older times.

Since 1993, the farm has been owned by "Hushållningssällskapet", and for almost 10 years there have been extensive activities at the farm, thanks in part to the Hushållninggillet and other associations. Now thay are working hard to build orerations including building maintenance, culture and health, agriculture and forestry, biological diversity, intangible cultural heritage, integration and handicrafts.

Follow the signs to "Åsnebyns kulturreservat" from road E45 just south of Mellerud. After about 2 km you arrive to the house where you will find parking.
