Holsljunga Church
Church with local, artistic touch
Holsljunga Church is a mix of old and new and has been renovated no less than five times during its lifetime.
About the church
Holsljunga church was built in 1834 and consecrated in 1835. The builder was Johan Wennberg from Sandhult. Due to settlements in the foundation, the church has been reinforced with iron bars.
The church's interior and furnishings hold several exciting stories. One worth mentioning is Karl XII's Bible from 1703 and a fair dress from the 19th century.
The furnishings and fittings have a Sjuhärad influence and the last coloring of the church in 1995 was done by the local textile artist Elisabeth Brenner.
