Hallaleden

Hallaleden is part of the well-known Kinnekulleleden trail and passes the mythical Lasses Grotta an exciting place that attracts both young and old explorers. The short trail makes it perfect for the whole family!

Along the way there are several cozy places where you can sit down for a break or a picnic among the deciduous trees. Near the cave there is also a shelter with a barbecue area and access to drinking water during the summer months.

Follow the path up towards Lasses Grotta and further up the slope. Above the cave, turn left and follow the blue trail. After about 1.5 kilometers you meet the orange marked Kinnekulleleden - there you can turn back and follow it towards the cave again for a nice round trip.

The story of Lasse in the mountain has fascinated visitors for generations. Lars Eriksson and his wife Inga lived here in the cave in the 1800s - far away from counts, barons and social life. He was often called "Sweden's last caveman", and a visit to the cave makes it easy to understand why the place evokes such strong feelings.

The cave is small and damp, with walls of cold stone where not even the fire could keep the heat out, Yet Lasse and Inga chose to live here as a testament to both their desire for freedom and their stubbornness at a time when few dared to go their own way.
