Biosfärleden Etapp 7 Myrbacken-Lugnås

The seventh stage of the Biosphere Trail starts at Myrbacken, in the middle of the countryside, but with just under a kilometer to Äskekärr station. The stage ends at Lugnås church. Along the route, you pass pastures, open fields and wooded areas. Closer to Lugnås church there is a climb up the ridge of Lugnåsberget and once at the church you can enjoy the beautiful view from the church steps towards Kinnekulle and Lake Vänern. The first church was built here as early as the 1100s, the view is both vast and beautiful.

The beginning of this stage is like the previous one ends with a picturesque rural environment. Forest areas with extensive farmland in between with both farms and grazing animals in fine pastures. After just over half the distance, the flat landscape changes into a gradual rise as you go up Lugnåsberget. Then there is also more lush forest for the last few kilometers before you finally arrive at Lugnås church. Once there, you are rewarded not only with the beautiful white-plastered 18th century church with a wonderful view of Kinnekulle that you have just left and also all the way to Lake Vänern. On this stretch there are few resting places so feel free to bring a seat mat.
