Ätradalsleden, Tranemo - Fegen

Stage 3: Tranemo - Fegen (60 km)

Ätradalsledens third stage stretches 60 km from Tranemo to Fegen and offers a varied cycling through both railway embankments and winding country roads. From Tranemo to Ambjörnarp, the trail follows the old railroad, then continues the journey on low-traffic country roads with both asphalt and shorter gravel sections. The stage is scenic but some sections south of Ambjörnarp may be less suitable for small children.

Tranemo is beautifully situated by Lake Tranemo and offers accommodation, restaurants, swimming and fishing spots. In Ambjörnarp there is the possibility of dressage cycling on the old railway line towards Sjötofta. In Sjötofta you will find one of Sjuhäradsbygden's best-preserved burial grounds with judges' rings and a pleasant homestead park for rest and barbecue.

The trail continues via Håcksvik, where you can swim in Skäremosjön, visit a flea market, play mini golf or stop for coffee and an overnight stay. To the south, you pass Gammalsjö mill, an impressive 19th-century customs mill, and Kummeludden's burial ground in beautiful beech forest by Lake Fegen.

Towards the end, you reach Kalv with several accommodation options, a swimming area and good opportunities for canoeing and fishing. From here you meet Lake Fegen again - a protected area with peaceful nature and excellent conditions for outdoor activities.
