Beskrivelse
As early as the 14th century, people in the area began to quarry lime from the rock here in Jönsbacken. From the parking lot there is a path through the lush forest, which leads you to the traces of the limestone quarries. Once you reach the limestone quarries, the path ends, but you can choose to walk on and discover the rest of the nature reserve.
The surrounding soil is moist and rich in lime, which means that some plants thrive particularly well. In the spring, you can see the thistle bloom and a sea of bluebells spread out on the ground. Several different orchids also grow here, such as coralroot, meadowsweet and the rare purple orchid.

Rutevejledning
From Fagersta, take road 66 towards Ludvika. Turn right at Hedkärrarondellen and continue on road 66 for about 1.6 km. Then turn right onto a small, narrow gravel road. Follow the gravel road for about 450 m to the parking lot.

There are rules that you as a visitor must follow. The rules are there to protect the area's natural values.
It is forbidden to:
- drive a motorized vehicle,
- camping,
- riding a horse,
- bring an unleashed dog,
- erecting a board, placard, sign, poster, inscription or similar device
- making a fire
- breaking twigs, felling or otherwise damaging living or dead trees and shrubs, and otherwise damaging vegetation by picking or digging up herbs, grasses, mosses and lichens.
