Hillingsberget is located about 3 kilometers north of Saladamm in Sala municipality. From Saladamm go north on road 835 towards Möklinta. After about 3 kilometers turn onto Lugndalsvägen where it is possible to park. From here you can explore the southern parts of the area as well as the nearby nature reserve Lungdals rikkärr. To visit the northern part of the area, you can continue north along road 835 for another 800 meters and there turn onto a smaller gravel road signposted Kallermansvägen. A short distance down this road you will find the reserve's northern parking lot.

There are rules that you as a visitor must follow. The rules are there to protect the area's natural values.

In addition to what otherwise applies, it is forbidden to:

• dig, hack, carve, paint or otherwise damage the earth's surface or other fixed natural objects such as rocks and boulders,
• damaging living or dead trees and shrubs, and damaging vegetation in general, for example by picking herbs, grasses, mosses, fungi or lichens, with the exception of berries and edible mushrooms for domestic use
• collecting insects or other invertebrates
• erecting a board, sign, poster or permanently marking out tracks or similar.
