Heliga Trefaldighets kyrka

The church was originally built by Franciscan monks who traveled on foot through Sweden. The Grey Friars, as they were also known, settled in towns they believed had potential for growth and where there were plenty of people. They were skilled in medicine, helped the elderly and the sick, and even taught children to read. Their arrival in Arboga is recorded in Assisi, Italy. According to an older, frequently cited view, the Grey Friars founded their monastery in Arboga in 1285. However, it is believed that they must have arrived here even earlier.
