Dybecksgården

Richard Dybeck was born in Odensvi vicarage on September 1, 1811. His father was a priest and the family had six children. After studying in Västerås, Dybeck took a degree in law at Uppsala University. Despite his legal education, Dybeck had an early interest in archaeology. "I prefer the wilderness to the desk", Dybeck is said to have said, as he made several trips to Sweden to collect songs and songs and study various ancient remains.

Dybeck is best known for writing the lyrics to what would later become the Swedish national anthem. "Du gamla, du fria" was first performed on November 13, 1844. It was not until several years later that "Du gamla, du fria" became the national anthem. Today, the dybecksgården is used as a parish hall and homestead.
