From the E18, take exit 130 towards Fagersta/Ludvika/Hamnen. Take road 66 south towards the harbor. After 3.2 kilometers turn right towards Tidö. After about 8 kilometers there is the first entrance, signposted Asköviken. If you continue along the road, it is signposted P Utkiksplats in Lövsta village, if you continue further on, follow the signs towards Tidö Castle to get to Rudö and Tidö.

There are rules that you as a visitor must follow. The rules are there to protect the area's natural values.

It is forbidden to:

• during the period April 1 to July 15, enter the area shown on the decision map,
• during the period April 1 to August 15 by boat or otherwise stay in the water area shown on the decision map,
• drive motorized vehicles other than on public and private roads
• park other than in specially designated parking spaces,
• set up a caravan, motor home or trailer,
• ride a horse other than on public and private roads
• organize a motorcycle competition, shooting competition, orienteering competition, boat race or training for this,
• erecting a board, sign or poster or cutting a track
• breaking branches, felling or otherwise damaging living or dead trees and bushes and digging up plants
• camping
• make a fire,
• bring an unleashed dog or other stray pet outside the property
• climbing nest trees or otherwise intentionally disturbing nesting birds
• collecting insects or other invertebrates
• using a radio or other sound device in a disruptive manner.

The camping and fire bans apply provided that the County Administrative Board does not set up and designate special places.
