Viterskalsstugan - Hemavan, Kungsleden

The Viterskalsstugan-Hemavan stage is easy to walk. Here high mountains rise and the valley widens. From Viterskalstugan down to Hemavan, the view is miles wide over Artfjället and the Okstindarna glaciers in Norway. From Viterskalsstugan, Viterskalet heads north. In the last part of the King's Trail, you walk through a ravine before reaching the Mountain Botanical Garden and Naturum Vindelfjällen in Hemavan.

On this part of the King's Trail, the snow often remains for a long time. It is usually not possible to hike until after midsummer at the earliest.
