Vindelforsarnas
Trail is 31 km long and guides you past some of Västerbotten’s most impressive
rapids and forests, from Vindeln to Sandviksforsen south of Rödåsel. In fact,
the name Vindelforsarna literally means ”The rapids of the Vindel River”!

The
path runs close to the river’s rushing waters and through the Nedre
Vindelforsarna Nature Reserve, where you will experience one of the
best-preserved river environments, framed by ancient woodland. What makes Nedre
Vindelforsarna unique is its blend of rapids and old-growth forest. The reserve
lets you walk through largely untouched nature, with dramatic ravines and
peaceful spots for rest and swimming.

Relax with some game fishing in calmer
waters (fishing license required) or simply enjoy the ever-changing rapids. The
trail passes 11 rapids and is suited for hiking and mountain biking. Rest areas
with shelters and fire pits make it ideal for day trips or longer excursions.
