Beskrivelse
On the southwest side of Lake Stor-Arksjön is Trollklinten, a steep mountain where the old forest has been left standing. There are plenty of pine and spruce trees in the area that are over 300 years old. There are no marked trails or other facilities in the reserve, but for those interested in nature there is still much to discover. Above Trollklinten's mighty northeastern slope you have a nice view of Arksjöberget, another large nature reserve located across the lake.
There are several legends about Trollklinten, including the fact that it was once a hereditary stupa where old and infirm relatives were pushed down. Myths about ancestral dumps are common around the country, but nowadays it is considered unlikely that they were actually used.
According to another legend, trolls lived on Trollklinten in ancient times. At the northern end of the Great Ark Lake is Mångmanberget, where the giants lived. Once the giants tried to throw stones at the trolls but failed. The stones landed in the lake and became the islets in the strait below the mountain.
