Skansnäsån

The free-flowing Skansnäsån river has a population of around 180,000 river pearl mussels.

The nature reserve is located just northeast of Dikanäs. It includes a natural landscape of forest and wetlands around Skansnäsån, which flows south from Skansnässjön and after about 11 km flows into Dikaån between Dikasjön and Vojmsjön.

At the lower part of the river, the mighty Kvarnforsen rapids, which is a given destination. On the western side of the river, a road runs up along the river to the power station located at the rapids. There is also a picnic area with a bench and table. From the campsite on the eastern side, there is an unclear path up to the rapids.
