Vuomatjåhkka rastskydd

The Vuomatjåhkka rest area is beautifully situated with a view of Stuor-Ajgart. Sometimes this shelter is also called Matsen.

Rest area: Rest areas are for temporary visits. You can rest here during the hike between the Aigert and Serva cabins. You do not spend the night in a rest shelter except when it is necessary for mountain safety. There are two sleeping slaves in the shelter. The journey past Stuor Ajgart is demanding in bad weather, so there are two rest shelters along this stretch. There is also a toilet here. Water can be fetched in the stream that runs past below.

Firewood: The County Administrative Board replenishes firewood once every winter. Always leave some firewood for the next visitor. Report, for example, to Naturum Vindelfjällen if you run out of firewood.

Emergency box: The Vindelfjällen Mountain Safety Committee's emergency box is located in the rest area. It may only be used in emergencies. Report immediately if it is used.
