Hornsmyran

Hornsmyran has a very rich flora. Eight species of orchids grow in the nature reserve. During a visit around midsummer, meadow lilies and marsh lilies bloom on large parts of the bog and in the southern edge of the forest guckusko and fragrant night violet.

In Övre Kågedalen there are passages in the bedrock with alkaline rocks, which means that many calcareous plants grow in the reserve, such as bear's broom and grass wool. You will also find alpine plants such as mountain laurel, and more southerly species such as prickly pear.

Take the opportunity to study some of our carnivorous plants: in the wetter flats you'll find greater willowherb, round willowherb and various leafy plants, and in the drier marshes you'll find waterweed.
