Bjärten

​Bjärten nature reserve is a swamp wood area near the western bank of Bjärten lake. The small, yellow Lapland buttercup grows in the damp areas, while marks left behind by the three-toed woodpecker can be seen on the trunks of the spruces.

Unlike many other wet or damp forests, the spruce forest in Bjärten has not been supplied with ditches. Thanks to the fact that the forest has remained fairly undisturbed for a long time, it retains its high natural values. There are many threatened natural forest species here.
