Kayaking in Vänern or Klarälven.

At Vänerkajak you can rent both SUP (paddle board) and one- or two-man kayaks. You can take a city tour on the Klarälven river or paddle out into the Vänern archipelago. Vänerkajak is based at Borgmästarholmen in Karlstad, but by agreement, Strandvik, Ölme can also be the starting point for paddling. Both westwards towards Grums and eastwards towards Kristinehamn there are fine paddling waters. It is also possible to have kayaks driven to Forshaga and paddle the Klarälven river downstream. A short basic instruction, information, tips on paddling technique and safety are given when you rent the kayak. In the two-man kayaks, which are very stable, it is possible to bring the whole family. There is plenty of room for luggage and a child who cannot paddle alone. It is also possible to bring a dog, but just remember that dogs are not allowed to run loose in the archipelago. During the summer, both courses and guided tours are organised.
