Torsberget, Naturreservat
- Naturreservat
- Landsdel: Värmlands län
Handlinger
Beskrivelse
The high lime content of the hyperite rock provides a special vascular plant flora, which means that you can find cornflower, spring pea, hazel and linden in the reserve.
The Torsberget nature reserve was established to preserve an old limestone-dominated pine forest with old trees, dying and dead trees and dead wood. Endangered spore plants and the species-rich vascular plant flora are to be protected in the reserve. A coherent forest gives populations of rare and protected species greater opportunities to survive and spread.

The area is part of the Natura 2000 area Storområdet Örten, which in turn is part of the EU's ecological network of protected areas, Natura 2000.
Animals and plants
Several of the rare species found in the area are dependent on high and even humidity and the continuous availability of dead trees in various stages of decomposition. The high lime content of the hyperite rock provides a special vascular plant flora, e.g. bluebell, spring pea, hazel and lime.
