Beskrivelse
Block-rich forest-marsh mosaic with cryptogamic species that require a moist and stable microclimate.
The nature reserve consists of old forest with both pine and spruce. The forest is dense, but it is sometimes interrupted by sparse pine forests and wet bogs. Here and there are old, large pine trees. Sågbäcken runs through the reserve and on into Tvärlikan.
The nature reserve was established to preserve biodiversity and valuable natural environments. Now the area is free to develop.
Animals and plants
The forest is damp and there is dead wood in various stages of decay. The trees are of different ages and some spruce have grown very slowly. Together, this creates good habitats for unusual mosses, lichens and fungi. One example is the violet-grey thorn lichen Bryoria nadvornikiana, which is found throughout the area. The less common woodland birds Tetrao urogallus and Picus canus can sometimes be seen. The forest reserve also has high biological values in the waterways. One example is the small brook trout Salmo trutta fario.

Rutevejledning
The reserve is located in Värmlands län, Torsby municipality, about 7 kilometers north of Likenäs, at Tvärlikan. Turn right after the shop in Likenäs and drive past the dam. After the road passes over the Likan stream, keep left and continue north, with the stream on your left. Follow the road for about 3.5 kilometers until it splits into a "cleft" and then take the right road north. Follow the road for about 3.5 kilometers to the reserve. There is currently no parking lot, but it is possible to park along the road.
Regler
It is prohibited to:
- collect invertebrates such as beetles, snails and butterflies
- collecting mosses, lichens and wood fungi
- breaking branches, felling or otherwise damaging living or dead trees, standing and fallen trees, and bushes,
- use the area in an organized way for commercial purposes without the permission of the county administrative board, and for schools and institutions to regularly use the area to carry out scientific or other studies,
- drive vehicles, such as bicycles, tractors, snowmobiles and all-terrain vehicles (so-called quad bikes).
