Beskrivelse
The area gives a genuine feeling of being far away from buildings or urban areas because the silence is palpable.
Much of the forest in the area grows on low, gently rounded cliffs with elements of small wetlands. The forest is old in most of the reserve and there are relatively few traces of previous forestry.
The ridge west of Öjersbyn is an area with a large number of both key biotopes and nature value objects. Within the area there are many forest stands with high nature values, including old spruce forest with a varying proportion of deciduous trees and old pine forest with elements of deciduous trees. There is plenty of dead wood and a lot of deciduous trees that break the dominance of spruce and pine. In addition to some red-listed species, several signal species have been noted in the area, i.e. species whose presence can indicate that an area has high nature values.
The reserve was established to preserve natural forests with abundant dead wood and old trees and to make the area accessible to outdoor recreation.

Rutevejledning
The reserve is located in Värmlands län, Årjäng municipality, 8 km southwest of Töcksfors town. Directions from Töcksfors: Drive E18 towards Oslo. In the first house on the left after the customs station (about 200 meters away) there is a ski station housed in a former border shop. Park there. Behind the building, next to the pond, there is a marked trail that, after a loop along the lake, leads to the national border. After a little over 3 kilometers, partly difficult, hike south you reach the nature reserve Låssbyn. Then continue another kilometer south to get to the nature reserve Öjersbyn.
Regler
It is prohibited to:
- collecting or harming invertebrates
- digging up vascular plants or collecting mosses, lichens and wood fungi
- breaking branches, felling or otherwise damaging living or dead trees, standing and fallen trees and bushes
- drive a motorized vehicle
- damaging or removing natural objects or surface formations or damaging the ground cover
- marking out tracks, organizing orienteering checks or holding competitions
- put up a board, sign, inscription, poster or similar device,
- use the area in an organized way for commercial purposes without the permission of the county administrative board,
- and for schools and institutions to regularly use the area to conduct scientific or other studies.
