Knappstadsviken

At cycling distance from the center of Karlstad is Knappstadsviken which is part of a larger undeveloped wetland area with high natural values.

The area has two entrances - one to the north at Björkås and to the west along the road to Skoghall.

There is a 4.5-kilometer walking trail. The path is easy to walk but not accessible for wheelchairs.

The walk around the bay, offers a varied nature. It leads through the damp and overgrown forests, along the open meadows with grazing cows and a lot of birds next to Klarälvsdeltat.

The area has a walking trail with observation towers, outdoor grills and picnic areas.
