Västerbystigen

Adjacent to Gräsöbaden's campsite you will find Västerbystigen, which takes you on a hike in Gräsön's beautiful cultural landscape. Västerbyn's land has retained many of its old-fashioned features, with field mounds and small patches of fields crossed by ditches. Here you can clearly see how the landscape has been shaped for centuries by the archipelago population's farming. The land is rich in many different types of plants and animals.

The path runs through everything from forest to open pastures and is about 1.5 km long. The terrain is slightly hilly but easy to walk, and along the way you will pass several climbing stiles that take you over the fences of the pastures. You can walk in low shoes, but the path is not suitable for prams or wheelchairs. There are a couple of picnic benches along the trail, but also nice rocks where you can enjoy the surroundings or the picnic basket you have brought. Parts of the trail pass through pastures with grazing animals. The animals are friendly but please respect them by behaving calmly and keeping your dog on a leash. Close the gates you pass through.

Service: Parking is available adjacent to the entrance along the road to Gräsöbaden and at the campsite. Information and picnic benches are available along the path.
