Kronparken is home to the county's largest pine tree. It takes several people to embrace it.
Here, on the sandy soil next to Uppsalaåsen, pines grow that are over 350 years old. It is believed that the oldest pines in Kronparken may have been planted by Olof Rudbeck the Elder around 1680. Why are the pines so big and coarse here? Over the centuries, the area has been used as grazing land and a military training area. Animals and soldiers have worked the land, which has been kept open and free of spruce and undergrowth. This has favored the competitive pine.
The pines in Kronparken are one of Uppsala County's natural treasures. A nature spot is an area with high natural and outdoor values that is accessible to visitors.
Accessibility: The area is not adapted for people with disabilities, but the Yellow Path that runs through the forest is large and wide. Both strollers and wheelchairs can get around.

Several of Uppsala's city buses stop at the Polacksbacken stop, from where it is only a short walk to the Kronparken entrance at Regementesvägen.
