Smultronställe Strömabadet

About a mile east of Tierp is the shallow lake Strömaren, which is a beautiful place with a rich bird life and is widely used for fishing and swimming. In the southern part there is a small bathing area with a sandy beach and a jetty. Many children have taken their first swimming lessons here under the guidance of the Tobo Swimming Society. They ran a swimming school here for 30 years, starting as early as 1937.

Next to the bathing area there is a fireplace for those who are eager to grill. Firewood storage is next door.

Want to try your luck at fishing? Strömaren has pike, perch and tench, among other species. A fishing license is generally required in the lake, but it is approved to fish from the fishing pier without a fishing license. Contact Strömarens naturvårdsförening for information on where you can obtain a fishing license.

Strömabadet is one of Uppsala County's nature hotspots. A nature spot is an area with high natural and outdoor values that is accessible to visitors.
