Smultronställe, Lilla Färnäsets kanotled

Lilla Färnäsets Canoe Trail is located in northwest Uppland, on the border with Gästrikland. Here you can paddle through lush forest and a little bit of lake paddling on Storfjärden. It is an easy paddled stretch of 5 km in total, a good day trip for those who want to paddle with children. The water in the river is not flowing.

The landing place is right by the road. You paddle clockwise, away through Lerån and back into Tångsån. Follow the canoe trail signs with a paddler to get to the right place. There is a coffee table at the start.

On Fogdön there is a shelter and fireplace. Firewood is usually available, but feel free to bring some from home. The beach is steep and it can be a bit tricky to get ashore.

Keep an eye out for the signs with the canoe trail symbol to find your way into Tångsån from Storfjärden. If you are unsure of the way, you can always turn around and paddle back the same way.

Keep in mind:

• Keep an eye out for rocks that are just below the water surface.
• Be considerate of the birds, especially in spring when they have chicks.
• Pack your equipment in waterproof bags and tie them up if possible.
• Use the fireplace on Fogdön if you want to barbecue. There may be a fire ban at certain times of the year.
• Take your rubbish home with you, of course.
• Think about those who come after. If you need to make a "toilet visit", hide what you leave behind.

Lilla Färnästet canoe trail is one of Uppsala county's favorite places in nature. A nature spot is an area with high natural and outdoor values that is accessible to visitors.
