Lindsjön

Handlinger
I øjeblikket
As a result of the dry summer of 2018 and the spruce bark beetle infestation, there are a lot of dead spruces in the reserve. There is a high risk of dead spruces falling and we advise you not to visit the area in windy weather.
Beskrivelse
In Lindsjön Nature Reserve, the forest takes care of itself and you will encounter trees in all stages of life, from young seedlings to dead, almost decayed trunks.
The reserve consists of two parts. In the eastern part is the pine-clad Långmossen. In the west is Lindsjön and in the old spruce forest next to it, you can find the red-listed bomb marble. Unlike most other mushrooms, the bomb mushroom appears in early spring. It thrives in spruce forests that are not too dense and have a sparse moss cover.
In the reserve you can also see many old and coarse aspens. These trees are important for many rare species such as the red cinnabar beetle and aspen feather moss, Uppland's landscape insect and landscape moss. Other species thrive in the reserve's unusually calcareous soil and in the many fallen trees. These are fungi, lichens and insects that have difficulty finding a place in the modern production forest. Some 50 red-listed species have been found in the reserve. These include the large aspen tick and aspen bark rodent, the small horned spider moss, the wood bag moss, the narrow shank lichen, the western kidney lichen, the black tick, the pale thorn fungus, the gray spider moss, the cream tick, the wavy tick, the wrinkled skin and the woolly spider moss.
So far there are no marked trails here and you have to find your way on your own through dense and damp spruce forest, over moss-covered logs and occasionally very rocky ground.

Rutevejledning
Lindsjön is located a bit south of Järlåsa.
From Uppsala, take road 72 and after about 15 km turn off towards Skogstibble. After 4.5 km turn right onto Onsikevägen. After another 2.5 km you have the nature reserve on your left. Onsikevägen is a narrow gravel road and there is no parking lot for the nature reserve yet, so it can be difficult to park.
It is also possible to get to Onsikevägen from Järlåsa. In Järlåsa you drive the road towards Ribbingebäck. After about 2 km, turn left onto Onsikevägen. After about 3.5 km you have the nature reserve on your right.
