Beskrivelse
Take your boat and head into one of Mälaren's archipelago gems. Find a lovely rocky outcrop for sunbathing and swimming or a private bay where you can be alone and enjoy the peace, water and birds undisturbed.
There are around twenty islands of varying sizes within the nature reserve. The islands are rocky and many are high and steep. The bare rocks are marked by the movement of the ice sheet. On Oxsten, which is the highest and steepest island, there are remains of an ancient castle.
There are plenty of nesting seabirds in the area, which is why there is a landing ban between April 1 and July 15 on the islands of Oxsten, Oxstensögonen, Stjärnan, Våmben and Lexingekråkan. The birds have chicks and must be left alone.
If you want to paddle through the reserve, there is a parking lot and the opportunity to put in the kayak next to the road just after you drive over to Grönsö. From here it is 4 km to the reserve itself. Take a tour around the entire Grönsö island and stop at Grönsö Castle where there is a café and an exciting castle park.

Grönsö is located about 25 km southeast of Enköping. You can get here with your own boat.
If you want to paddle through the reserve, there is a parking lot and the opportunity to put in the kayak next to the road just after you drive over to Grönsö. From here it is 4 km to the reserve itself.
Regler
In the reserve it is forbidden to:
- dig, hoe or otherwise damage the soil surface
- break branches, cut down or otherwise damage living or dead trees and bushes
- digging up or picking flowers, grasses, mosses, fungi, lichens or in any other way removing or damaging plants or plant parts of any kind, with the exception of picking edible mushrooms, fruit and berries
- capture, kill or remove vertebrate animals, remove eggs or nests or otherwise deliberately disturb wildlife, except for fishing
- collecting and removing insects or other invertebrates
- making open fires
- bring an unleashed dog or other stray pet
- driving a motorized vehicle or off-road vehicle
- put up a board, poster, poster, sign or make an inscription
- camping, setting up a caravan, trailer or motorized vehicle,
- organize competitions without the permission of the County Administrative Board.
