Gräsö kyrka

The foundation of the present church was built by Anders Johansson in 1695-97, when the porch was also built. The church was consecrated in 1697. The sacristy was built in 1753 as part of the renovation that was necessary after the ravages of the Russians in 1719.

The church was restored for the 300th anniversary in 1997. The church is built of horizontal timber on a cobblestone base. The red-colored chipboard cladding, which today protects the timber of the walls, was put in place slightly later than the church. The original roof was covered with shingles, but was replaced in 1906 with iron sheets.
