Smultronställe Stormossens Fågeltorn i Östa

The bird tower is located on Stormossen. You can get here via a 300 m long footbridge from the parking lot. You may not see many birds here, but if you come on an early spring morning, you may hear the chirping of the local choughs. Sometimes an osprey or sea eagle flies over. Cranes and curlews are other birds that sometimes visit the bog. Look and listen if you can hear any.

Several types of white mosses grow on the bog, as well as other typical moss plants such as water primrose, chickweed and cloudberry. It is most beautiful in the fall when the moss turns red, green and orange.

Stormossen's bird tower in Östa is one of Uppsala County's natural treasures. A nature spot is an area with high natural and outdoor values that is accessible to visitors.
