Beskrivelse
Despite the name, there are many beautiful things to see in this area, which in addition to a limestone coniferous forest also contains a rich fen. In an almost untouched lime coniferous forest of spruce, there are conditions for finding many lime-loving plants, fungi, insects and shells. Guckusko, soapwort and woodruff are three of the most popular vascular plants. But there's also black witch hazel, thistle, cinnamon rose and woodruff, to name but a few. In a wetland favored by lime in the rock, you will find mosses and vascular plants that attract by their names: golden moss, late scorpion moss and blood keys.

Rutevejledning
Från Östersund tar man väg E45 mot Hammerdal. När byn Ollsta passeras är det ytterligare 580 meter kvar tills man når en avtagsväg till höger. Kör man ytterligare cirka 2,8 kilometer efter en skogsbilväg når man fram till Helvetesmyrkälen.
Regler
Welcome to Helvetesmyrkälen. Please note that within the reserve it is not allowed to:
- pick and collect species of any kind, with the exception of berries and edible mushrooms,
- climbing trees, staying near a bird of prey's nest, lair or pot, collecting animals or otherwise deliberately damaging or disturbing wildlife,
- damaging the ground, boulders, vegetation, dry trees or other dead wood
- drive a motorized vehicle off-road
Other rules apply if you want to conduct any kind of activity in the area, see the relevant reserve decision for full regulations. There may also be other laws to take into account, such as the Reindeer Husbandry Act.
