Gårsjöhöjden

The spruce trees are anchored by waist-high Nordic wolfsbane and tolta. The forest is dense, and the guckuskon hides in the darkness between the trees. The presence of lime-loving species in abundance indicates that the soil in the area is calcareous and that the forest can be classified as a calcareous coniferous forest. Cornflower, witch hazel and thistle are lime lovers that grow here. The reserve is located on the northern slope of Gårsjöhöjden, which reaches just over 400 meters above sea level. Here you will find spruces in the form of stately 150-year-old trees and pines up to 200 years old. There are also large willows and aspens in this forest.
