Gräftåtrollets naturstig

The trail starts at the windbreak on the left inside the shelter and follows the left flow of Tvärån. If you are lucky, you can see small brook trout when you pass the stream about 100 meters downstream. After the bridge, enter the forest to the north and follow the markings, after a few hundred meters you will meet the first barbecue area with tables and benches, right by the bridge that takes you over Gräftån. If you want to catch brook trout, you can fish it yourself. It is of course also possible to bring barbecue sausages. On the other side of Gräftån you really get into the old forest. There are some troll figures and Lummer and Linnea grow densely on the ground. The path goes up to the river bank and then south. After a few hundred meters, you can see Storgräftåns fäbodvall through the forest on your right. You are now a few meters higher than the Gräftån and have a nice view of the pasture wall. Here you will find another shelter and a barbecue area with a nice view of Östfjället and Storfjället. Cross the bridge and you are back at the fäbodvall.

Large parts of Berg municipality are reindeer herding areas. Most reindeer are in the mountains during the summer, but you may encounter them in the forest or along the roads all year round. It is important that you as a visitor show consideration for the reindeer. You do this by not stressing them. When you encounter reindeer, slow down, sit down and wait for them to pass or take a long detour past them. Always keep dogs on a leash where there are reindeer.
