Beskrivelse
Forest surrounding the valuable watercourse Råbäcken.
The area consists mostly of pine forest and older mixed swamp forest. The swamp forest contains spruce and many deciduous trees such as silver birch.
The reserve was established to preserve valuable natural environments and biodiversity. Now the forest in the reserve will be allowed to develop freely and the natural water balance in the soil will not be damaged.
Råbäcken flows through the nature reserve and continues into Likan and Klarälven. Both watercourses are part of Natura 2000, an ecological network of protected areas in the EU.
Animals and plants
The nature reserve has old deciduous trees, slow-growing spruce trees, a moist environment and dead wood, partly due to the impact of beavers. This creates good habitats for rare species such as the violet-grey thorn lichen Bryoria nadvornikiana and the lettuce-like lung lichen Lobaria pulmonaria.

Rutevejledning
Location: Värmlands län, Torsby municipality, about 5.5 km east of Sysslebäck.The nature reserve is located about 10 km south of Långbergets sporthotell. From Sysslebäck (v 62) take the road up towards Långbergets sporthotell. Pass the entrance to the sports hotel and drive down the next valley. Just after Eggsjödammen turn right and drive south along Eggsjön. After the southern end of Eggsjön, continue south for about 4 km. The nature reserve is located next to the road on the western side of the road.
Regler
It is prohibited to:
- collect invertebrates such as beetles, snails and butterflies
- collecting mosses, lichens and wood fungi
- breaking branches, felling or otherwise damaging living or dead trees, standing and fallen trees, and bushes,
- use the area in an organized way for commercial purposes without the permission of the county administrative board, and for schools and institutions to regularly use the area to carry out scientific or other studies,
- drive vehicles, such as bicycles, tractors, snowmobiles and all-terrain vehicles (so-called quad bikes).
