Kristinehamns kommun
Välkommen till Kristinehamns fantastiska natur ...
Arskagsleden runs through pastures with old oaks. You walk across beautiful meadows and through forests with many deciduous trees. At Arskagsudde, in the far south, you have a nice view of Åråsviken, which is part of Lake Vänern. The whole area is protected as a nature reserve. The trail runs largely through pastures with grazing cows. The animals can be curious. Show consideration, it is the cows that keep the landscape open. If you combine the Arskagsleden trail with the Nötöleden trail, you get 13 km of hiking. This trail is not suitable if you want to hike with a dog. Cows, especially when they have calves, can be aggressive towards dogs.
SERVICE: The trail is prepared until May 15.

Visnums-Kil, south of Kristinehamn
From Kristinehamn take road 26, towards Mariestad. Drive south about 25 km. At Nybble turn right towards Medhamn. Follow the road to Visnums-Kil's church, from here it is signposted towards "Naturreservat Nötön-Åråsviken" and then "Arskagen". Show consideration and drive slowly as the road passes over a farmyard. The road passes through a pasture, where you have to open the fence in two places, pass and close, so that the grazing animals do not escape. The road to the reserve is closed with a barrier during the period 1/10 - 31/3.
