Beskrivelse

Discover the nature around western Rottnen, one of five major quiet areas in Växjö municipality. Around Asa, east of Lake Örken, in the eastern part of the municipality, here along Lake Rottnen and around Åsnen, there are large areas of natural and cultural environments with excellent sound quality. All are well worth a day trip on foot or by bike to explore all the varied habitats with nice views to boot. In these large, relatively quiet and unspoiled areas, the experience of desirable sounds of nature often dominates over disturbing noise. Here, at least 80% of visitors to the area after the visit consider that they have experienced a good sound environment, ie lower than 45 dB (A). Here you are surrounded by nature's own sounds, such as the lapping of the waves from the lake, a breeze in the foliage or the spring birdsong. Wind speed, forestry and agriculture, traffic, weather, season and time of day affect how these quiet areas are perceived in the moment.

Some tips for your visit here: As always, respect the basic rule of the right of public access - do not disturb, do not destroy. Turn off - put your cell phone on silent and be disconnected when you are out in nature. Appreciate the moment - let go of all everyday thoughts to be present here and now. Go slow - slow down and walk slower than normal on your outing. Listen - nature is almost never completely silent, and its sounds often have a calming effect. Smell and feel - each forest has its own scents, which change with the seasons and weather. Feel the rough bark or the soft moss.
