Beskrivelse
The nature reserve forms the eastern slope of Skärberget, down towards Lake Amungen.
The area has two habitat types, both with an average age of about 130 years. The western part of the area consists of the boulder-rich, dry and poor mountain slope. Here, a small pine forest dominates with a large element of young birches and occasional spruces. There is a large proportion of old dead trees, both lying and standing, known as flames and dry trees, which often bear traces of fires.
At the foot of the mountain and to the east, a more mixed forest takes over on fresh and marshy land. There are plenty of deciduous trees here, mainly birch but also aspen, alder and willow.
The bedrock consists mainly of granite with a streak of felsic metavolcanite in the westernmost part.

In this terrain, you can't move fast. And it can be dangerous too, so take it easy if you're going to try to climb over this rubble.
Rutevejledning
The reserve is located just under 20 km east of Furudal, south of Dalfors near the northern shore of Amungen.
Regler
Within the reserve it is not allowed to:
- damage growing or dead - standing or fallen - trees, stumps and bushes, with the exception of collecting loose, small, dry branches and twigs for the purpose of making a fire.
**Without permission from the County Administrative Board, it is also forbidden to
- digging up plants, picking mosses, lichens and wood-living fungi or collecting animals (e.g. insects)
- holding or conducting competitions, camps and other major or recurring organized events.
