Beskrivelse
The reserve consists of Gösjön and the watercourse Gönan. The lake is in Leksand municipality and the watercourse flows into Vansbro municipality. The special thing about Gönan is that rocks and boulders have not been cleared away to facilitate rafting, nor have they been dammed for hydropower. Such an unaffected watercourse is very unique and thus hosts an unusual animal world that benefits from all this stone. For example, there are river pearl mussels, trout and a rich insect fauna. The surrounding forest is an important buffer against the environment and is also protected in the reserve.

Regler
In the reserve it is not allowed to...
- damage growing or dead - standing or fallen - trees, stumps and bushes
- drive motorized vehicles on the terrain, both bare ground and snow-covered ground
- using fishing gear, boats and the like that have been used in other waters without prior disinfection
- fishing with nets in Gönan from the outlet of Gösjön down to the confluence with Ballsån, see regulation map Appendix 3 (see Decision and management plan in the fact box next to this)
**Furthermore, it is prohibited without the permission of the County Administrative Board to
- dig up plants, pick mosses, lichens and wood-living fungi or collect animals (e.g. insects).
