Teknisk uppgradering av Naturkartan måndag morgon

På måndag morgon driftsätter vi en stor teknisk uppgradering av Naturkartan som vi arbetat med i 18 månader. Uppgraderingen ger en snabbare och mer stabil plattform och lägger grunden för de nya funktioner som kommer i Naturkartan version 3 under hösten. Det kan förekomma kortare driftstörningar under början av veckan men vi gör vårt bästa för att lösa alla problem som uppstår. The nature reserve has areas affected by spruce bark beetle. Many spruce trees have died and may fall over time, so please be cautious and avoid visiting during windy weather.

The beetles only attack living trees and do not remain in dead wood. Dead trees are left in place to support biodiversity, as they provide important habitats for wildlife, mosses, and lichens.

Beskrivelse

The nature reserve is located on the eastern part of Ridön Island in Lake Mälaren and offers a peaceful natural setting, with varied pine forests on rocky hills and mixed woodlands along the shoreline.

Thanks to the wide variety of tree species—coniferous, broadleaf, and noble broadleaf trees—as well as many old trees and large amounts of dead wood, the area provides an important habitat for numerous rare and red-listed species, especially fungi.

The reserve is easy to explore on foot, and there are excellent opportunities for swimming along much of the shoreline. You can also experience the area from the water, by private boat or kayak.

Rutevejledning

Ridön Nature Reserve is located in Lake Mälaren, about 16.5 kilometres north of Nykvarn and around 18 kilometres northwest of Södertälje.

The best way to reach the reserve is by private boat or kayak. Please note that there are no jetties within the reserve.

Regler

To protect Ridön Nature Reserve, there are rules that must be followed.

Within the reserve, it is prohibited to:

  • dig, break, drill, or otherwise damage rock, soil, or stone
  • cut down or otherwise damage living or dead trees and shrubs
  • damage vegetation by digging up plants or removing mosses, lichens, or wood-dwelling fungi

Exception to the rules above:

  • trees that have fallen across a road or trail may be cut and moved aside.
