Beskrivelse
Näsudden Nature Reserve consists of a peninsula surrounded by Täljöviken and Svinningeviken to the west and Tunafjärden to the northeast. The reserve also includes water areas in the bays, as well as a small island, Vimparen.
**Varied and beautiful
The main purpose of the reserve is to maintain and develop a varied and beautiful part of the inner archipelago with its valuable cultural heritage, animal and plant world and to ensure a natural area close to urban areas that is of significant importance for the public's outdoor life in Österåker municipality.
The nature consists of rocky pine forest on the heights and grove-like mixed deciduous forest with more open areas from former arable farming and haymaking in lower-lying areas. Large parts of the reserve are classified as a key biotope by the Swedish Forest Agency with its deciduous forest grove and grazed forest out on the headland. There are also meadows along the shores of Täljöviken and Tunafjärden. The reserve is grazed by sheep and cattle.
**Two islands will soon become one
Näsudden consists of two parts, Kristenholmen in the north and Gästholmen in the south. Originally there were two separate islands, but today, due to land uplift, you can reach Gästholmen via a low-lying section of beach meadow.
**Trails and information
The nature reserve has several trails, rest areas and viewpoints. Several signs are posted that tell you more about what you can see at the site or about nature in the area.
**Sheep and cows graze in Näsudden nature reserve
Their mission is to keep the cultural landscape open in a natural and sustainable way. To make this possible, we would like to remind you of a few things that are important to keep in mind when you are in the nature reserve and near the grazing animals:
- Dogs must be on a leash - always!
- Be calm and do not make noise
- Leave the animals to graze in peace.
- Do not litter.
- Do not use bright lights such as headlamps
- Don't climb on the fences, use the special crossings.
-Don't forget that the right of public access does not apply to cultivated land. This means that you must never be on or pass over cultivated land or fields.
**This applies in the nature reserve
To protect the Näsudden nature reserve, there are rules that you must follow.
As large parts of the nature reserve are grazing land, it is not appropriate to camp in the reserve under the restrictions of the right of public access.
In the reserve it is forbidden to:
- drive a motorized vehicle or ride a bicycle,

- destroying or damaging rock, earth or stone by drilling, hacking, blasting, grating, digging, painting or similar means,
