Nacka gamla kyrkogård

In the Middle Ages, Nacka ström was part of Brännkyrka parish, which meant that the people who lived here had a long way to go to church. By the 1620s, the population of the area had grown to over 100 people, and a chapel was needed. A simple timber cross church was also built, but after Nacka's current church at Finntorp was built, it was demolished.

The cemetery is idyllically situated on a ridge surrounded by forest. The graves were distributed among farms and crofts in the parish. The af Petersen family grave has a central place. They have owned the Erstavik estate since the 18th century and are still the largest landowner in southern Nacka. A stone mausoleum with stepped gables belongs to the Neumüller family of brewers. If you continue the cultural walk to Hästhagen, you can see Erstagården, which was built by the brewery family.
